Company Profile

Hanam Canada, Victoria, BC is a consulting engineering firm and BC Mining Properties, Nanaimo, holds the mineral titles for five square kilometers including and surrounding the former Sunro copper and gold mine near Jordan River, BC, Canada. The mine is located below property owned by two private companies, BC Lands, Nanaimo, and Quicksilver Hauling, Victoria. The mine has three crushers and four mills capable of processing 173,000 t/y of ore. Average ore milled was 173,000 tonnes per year. Copper production was an average of 1,900 tonnes/y, about 1.1% of the ore milled.  Silver production averaged 310 kg/y about 1.8 g/t and gold, 28 kg/y, about 0.16 g/t. The mine last operated in 1974 and all the equipment is still in place in an underwater main mill room.

Preliminary engineering and consultation is underway to win environmental, community and First Nation support. The project includes reclamation of a former waste rock area and restoration of salmon habit on the Lower Jordan River.
